We arrved late in the evening, after having made a booking several days before. The half-drunk owner gave us a room in a new annex of the hotel, which is currently (June 2018) still under construction. The room we were put in had no lights, so we moved (at 1 in the morning) to another room. The room consisted of two single beds, without any other furniture - nothing to store clothes in or to sit down on. The door to the balcony was broken (and so were the doors from the balcony to other rooms, so our room was literally open to everyone - particularly inconvenient given that the annexe's main door was not functional either. There was no water to shower for most of the day, while the whole place was dirty and filled with debris and dust from the ongoing construction. Whereas the reception was responsive and promised to speak with the owner, the receptionist admitted that the owner has been neglective to claims from other guests who complained about the situation before. The receptionist also confirmed that the hostel's staff themselves didn't consider the annex to be ready for hosting guests. After insisting to move on several occasions, we were offered a room in the main building. The room was smaller, and hadn't been cleaned properly. The balcony was again full of broken furniture, facilities and dust. Overall: not recommended. Apart from the inacceptable state of the annex, and the way the owner treats guests, the place is overpriced for everything but the dorms.

Great hostel ideally located in the centre of Beirut, close to Achrafieh. Lots of restaurants, bars & shops at walking distance. Rooms are quite spacious and clean and it is also possible to eat at the hotel (more like home cuisine). We felt very welcome by Michel and his team, who also helped us arrange day trips in Lebanon.

Fantastic hotel in Beirut. The staff working there are wonderful and kind... and the hotel itself has a unique chill vibe that I haven't found anywhere else in Beirut. I felt at home whenever I visited the Meshmosh... Highly recommend it!
