  Riwaq is such a soothing and welcoming place, and I guarantee you will walk out of there with a new friend. some of the best wine I've had in mar mkhael, too. every Wednesday they host an event called "Sidewalk Beirut" that's an open mic event for poetry, spoken word, music, and whatever you want, and it's seriously the best. Highly recommend you visit whenever you get the chance to.

  I don't know how the simplicity can be that captivating, three seating areas are available to fit your mood, outside on the sidewalk, inside near the busy bar area or downstairs where you can enjoy a full calm environment. The place was forever on my list and finally made it, one downside for the non availability of skimmed milk, else the coffee is on point, the cakes are provided by the same source as Hook and Tota, and the service well, with Carla there, I have always a smile on my face. They do organize events so keep your eyes on their page.

  The best coffee shop and bar i have seen ever, it is perfect to study or just chill in the day, and it turns into a cool bar with good atmosphere in the night... And the special salad they have is absolutely perfect
